| | apathetic | ] | This is what happens when you're the city leading the charge in homesexual, anti-war, and anti-anything good legislation and rulings. You end up completely amoral, and with an anything goes mentality. Hell as screwed up as these people are, I'm suprised the campaign manager even cared. I mean, its progressive to screw around with anything and anyone you want, right? Right? |

| | calm | ] | Well, about 6 months since I posted, and I'm down 80 lbs. I had gastric bypass surgery on July 13th. And then a follow up surgery for a complication 4 days later. It sucked. It REALLY sucked. Pain for 2 months, and still a few small lingering annoyances.
Plus my hair is thinning out now. A lot.
I'd do it again.
Yup. |

| My Grandmother |
[Nov. 21st, 2004|09:02 am] |
Passed away Sunday morning around 3:00 a.m. at the nursing home, after suffering with Alzheimers for approximately 12 years. Things I miss (not things I will miss, since I've had all this time to miss them) are Chicken Gravy for breakfast at her house, tuna fish with finely chopped up celery, on bread cut into squares for me, just like I liked it. Watching All My Children and General Hospital (back when they weren't just skin shows) with her. Yes I watched soaps, (or stories as she called them), I was young and didn't really understand all of it, I just remember the intro for GM with the wailing ambulance and, was it Tina, with the multiple personality disorder?...Takin a nap in the recliner...being told not to sit too close to the TV, as it would hurt my eyes...( I did sit awful close...) ... eatin Lorna Dune cookies, apple flips heated up (she really liked those...)
I'll add more to this later as it comes into my head. |

Those of you who defend Islam as a legitimate religion, defend this.
You can't.
Unless you want to live (but not for long) under sharia law. |

With a tip to Jeff:
One thing that you can say about this election, is that there is a clear choice.
1. Seek out terrorists in their hiding places, wherever they may be, fight and kill them there,
Or
2. Wait until they attack us again, on our soil, and then try to find and arrest them. ___________________________________
1. Take whatever action is necessary to safeguard our country, with whatever allies want to come along,
Or
2. Go to the Germans, French, and the UN and say "Mother may I please go into (insert terrorist harboring/nuke building tinpot dictatorship here) and take out the threat?" ___________________________________
1. Take action and keep going until the job is finished, no matter the polls, or the attitude of the "world community" (who would, not so secretly like to see us fall on our faces, to heck with the long-term consequences).
Or
2. Go until the anti-war element of your party starts screaming, the casualties start to mount, and the press plays up all the negative and none of the positive, then pull out (like Somalia/Lebanon) emboldening the terrorists/totalitarians.
___________________________________
1. Reduce taxes for everyone.
Or
2. Increase taxes on the engines that make this country go.
___________________________________
1. Free trade that ultimately benefits all parties.
Or
2. Protectionism (disguised as free trade, but...), that reduces our overall competitiveness, and increases prices for our citizens.
___________________________________
1. Appoint judges who believe that the Constitution says what it says.
Or
2. Appoint judges who legislate from the bench...finding new laws in "penumbras" that the people that wrote the Constitution would have dropped dead over.
Says it all, really. |

| A personal post |
[Sep. 21st, 2004|10:34 am] |
Been a while since I made one of those. My wife's grandfather is not going to make it, it's not really even up in the air anymore. It really sucks, as it just seem to come on all of the sudden, and they thought they had fixed the problem. Problem is, it was only one of them, and apparently, unfortunately, it was the only curable of the two.
So we're basically in a holding pattern, waiting for the news we know will come anytime now.
When the whole world is caught up in meaningless crap, (and lord knows I'm guilty of it too), it takes things like this to remind you of the important things, and that the rest of the crap is just that. Useless meaningless crap.
I love you honey. |
